🌍 Global Project Flashback
In 2016, Fermob contributed to the design of the outdoor spaces at Johannesburg’s Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital, supplying furniture as part of a broader vision to create a healing and welcoming environment.
Led by architect Annamari Comrie of South African firm GREENinc, the hospital’s outdoor area was conceived as a central feature connecting the building’s wings. The design focused on functionality, inclusivity, and comfort for both children and adults.
Annamari Comrie’s work in “therapeutic landscaping” underlines the importance of outdoor design in promoting patient well-being and recovery. The hospital has since become a reference point for healthcare environments that prioritise family-friendly outdoor spaces that endure.
A carefully chosen palette—Honey, Cedar Green, Cotton White, and Willow Green—was used to create a soft, uplifting atmosphere throughout the gardens and courtyards.
