Frédéric Sofia is a French designer known for his work blending industrial design with a playful and modern aesthetic. He is most famous for his collaboration with Fermob, particularly for redesigning the Luxembourg collection, which has become one of the brand’s most iconic outdoor furniture lines.
In 2004, Sofia reinterpreted the classic Jardin du Luxembourg chairs, originally designed in 1923 for Paris’ Luxembourg Gardens. His version retained the elegance of the original but introduced lighter aluminium construction, improved ergonomics, and a contemporary colour palette—perfectly aligning with Fermob’s vibrant and innovative identity.
